Jo Vincent

Jo trained in Leeds, Italy and London before setting up her glass design studio in 2000. Her work has been exhibited widely throughout the UK, Belgium and Italy and she has been commissioned for various private and public spaces, including the Chelsea Flower Show in London and the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield.  

‘Inspiration for my work is taken from time spent travelling between rural and urban environments. Journeys carried out on foot, by car and by train all record architecture, patterns, rhythms and continuous shifts in the landscape. Such events manifest themselves in my work through the manipulation and juxtaposition of the material. It is cut, layered, bent, cast, chilled and slumped. 

Motifs are often enclosed in the glass and sections assembled through the use of both traditional leading techniques and industrial fixing methods. The outcomes are dynamic and sharp, illustrating a passion for strong colour and geometric form’.
