Andrew Nadolski is a photographer and design consultant living in Exeter, Devon. In 1996 he began photographing the unique landscape of Porth Nanven, a remote beach on the west Cornwall coast. What began as an intensely personal set of pictures has grown into a major body of work, widely exhibited across the UK and keenly sought after by Collectors.
In his first book, ‘The End of the Land’, we see the interaction of land and sea that so fascinates Nadolski, not as isolated images but sequenced as a visual poem, ‘I have seen worlds appear and disappear. Fragile landscapes created by a receding tide, rocks balanced in arrangements that will vanish with the returning sea’. The End of the Land is a powerful body of work that extends the boundaries of the photographed landscape and begins to question our understanding of humanity’s place in the universe and indeed, our perception of time itself.
“Andrew Nadolski’s impressionistic views are nearer to art than photography. With the wash of a constantly moving sea…the photographs take on a condition that begins to approach music”. Joanna Pitman – The Times
“Andrew Nadolski’s poignant photographs of a Cornish beach make art from the passing of time”. Sebastian Smee – The Daily Telegraph
Signed prints are available to order in 3 sizes: 42cm x 42cm, 50cm x 50cm & 60cm x 60cm. These are archivally framed in bespoke ash frames to museum standard. Signed copies of ‘The End of the Land’ are also available, priced £29.99 (+ P&P).
